It also shows every other LinkedIn field it would fit. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us. It counts the way a browser text box does: in UTF-16 code units, so spaces, line breaks and punctuation count, and an emoji can count as 2. It tells you when that happens. LinkedIn doesn't publish how it counts, so leave a few characters spare. Most letters, spaces and line breaks are one each. Many emoji are two. We count the same way, and show the difference when your text has characters that count as two. LinkedIn doesn't publish how it counts, so if you're within a couple of characters of a limit, check in LinkedIn itself.
