Finding sales leaders

Sales leaders go by a dozen titles. Here's how the string covers them.

The same job is VP Sales at one company and Head of Sales at the next.

  1. 01

Every wording needs its own entry

Quotes make LinkedIn match a phrase exactly, so "VP Sales" doesn't find "VP of Sales". The string lists each wording, joined with OR.

  2. 02

Paste it into the title filter

Sales Navigator reads Boolean in its Company, title and keyword fields. Titles in the title filter find people by the job they hold, not by words elsewhere on their profile; add industry words in Keywords.

From LinkedIn Help: Using Boolean Search on Sales Navigator ↗, read 30 Oct 2026

  3. 03

    Directors or not

Directors of sales report to the VP in many teams. If you want the person who signs, remove both director titles; if you want the person who runs the team day to day, keep them. That's our view.
